Part 25
Matt picked up a few things so I could clean myself up, a few outfits, a pair tennis shoes, and ice packs for my eyes and head. He cleaned out the biggest gash in my head with saline and peroxide, then stitched me up. The rest of the cuts were soaked with peroxide to allow any particles inside for fall out. Before I got dressed he tells me that he needed to flush the stab wound to make sure it doesn't get infected, plus he wants to see if I damaged anything. I had no problem with him doing all that he's done so far, but when he got to flushing my leg; the pain was so excruciating that I passed out once again.
By the time I woke up, we were no longer driving, I could hear Matt's heavy breathing, so it's safe to assume he was taking a nap. I was able to see slightly out of the slits in my eyes. The parking lot gave me the notion it was a hotel because of the structure, it's simular to a few hotels we stayed at in the past. I wasn't sure what State we were in or what hotel. I reached for Matt to wake him, but an IV line tugged at my arm. I read the bag the IV was attached too, and inside was an antibiotic. I pulled my jeans down a tad to look at my leg and it was wrapped by a professional. I have the feeling back in my leg, I can see out the small opening in my eyes, still no ringing in my ears, so I'm winning at this point.
"So, are we sleeping in the car or are we getting a room? Also, who stitched my leg?"
Matt lifts his head, "I didn't want to leave you out here alone. Your face would scare people. I stopped past a friend's house, he was able to fix what you damaged and there's instructions on the exercises you need to do three times a week." Matt said as he exited the SUV.
Not too long after he got out the SUV, Matt came back to retrieve me and our things. He gave me a hooded sweatshirt and told me to cover my face because he was certain that someone would ask questions. Holding onto the SUV with one hand, I maneuver my body to wiggle the hoodie onto my upper body, leaving out the arm I needed to keep my balance. Pressing my butt against the SUV, I forced my arm through the sleeve, and struggled to get the shirt around my torso; since I'm still in excruciating pain whenever I adjust my weight to that side. I can hear Matt walking towards me but could also see that he was holding something long, thin, and shiny; but couldn't make out what it was.
"Bro, I would be honored to carry you inside over my shoulder again but, I don't want to draw too much attention our way; plus, there's too many bags to carry.
"Thank you, but I'd rather not be your cave bitch ever again."
Matt let out a hardy laugh for a few long seconds then told me the cane will be temporary, but for now I must use it to make sure I don't damage my leg or rip my stitches. While was talking, he kept moving, using his voice to guide me in the right direction to the hotel entrance. Standing in the foyer of the hotel, Matt stood behind me nudging me with the bags in the center of my back. Whenever he wanted me to turn a particular way, he would nudge me on the opposite side of the direction he wanted me to go.
Once up to the room, Matt gets me settled and tells me that he's going to head out to get us food. Before he left he made sure I had ice, antibiotics, and pain killers. Icing my face, I lay back so I could stretch my wounded leg. Doing some exercises in the attempt to regain the my strength. I knew that one day Matt would show his true colors. Every note that was left to me for the most part told me about Matt, but I didn't listen. Now, look at me.
