Part 41

Part 41

Waking up to Anthony was the last person wanted to see. Don't get me wrong, if the ladies have been trying to figure out where all the good looking, straight men are, they're right here. Anthony told me not to say anything, because when Eric apparently tried to kill me, he damaged my larynx. So talking will be out of the question for awhile. He asked how I was feeling and I shook my head yes. I don't know how he expected me to tell him when I can't talk. He told me that he brought my envelope so I can look at it, he asked if I was still up for the task. He had to be kidding me right, you damn right I was up for it. As he was waiting on my head nod, I was trying to unhook everything, basically telling him I'm ready now. He gently pushed me back and stated for all black envelopes there's 30 days, killing the person on the 30th day. Red envelopes, you have one chance, one shot. Your envelopes will be black for a while, then you'll get a call and they'll give you a code name but for now,  you're on bed rest for 48 hours.

He hands me the black envelope and walks out the room. I took my time to open it, since I can't do anything for the next 48 hours, I locked it in my end table for safe keeping. I could hear that voice again, Eric's new voice, the one I don't like. He's in the hallway talking to Anthony, Anthony tells him to sleep in another room for a few days. I get out of the bed, dragging whatever is in my IV along for the ride so I can lock my door. Twenty steps to the door and I was exhausted. I laid back down and drifted off to sleep.

Three days later I was able to gather myself, it still hurts to talk but I'm doing what I can. I sat on the edge of the bed to read about my mark. It states that my mark has connections with a major drug cartel and is a mole within our home, they are attempting to infiltrate our organization to recruit people to cross over and provide them with information so their product doesn't get confiscated by the FBI. I flip the paper over to match the face with the accusations.
