Part 48
I just looked at King shaking my head because how naive do you have to be to see this going wrong. I explained to him all of the flaws I saw in this plan and told him that if that’s the route he wants to go, he’ll have to take me out of the equation. While he sat and thought about what he wanted to do, I called down to order us food. Before I had a chance to sit down, he started talking.
“I see these men as family and I trust them. I don’t believe in my heart that they would do anything to harm me.”
“Did you see in your heart that we wouldn’t be together, as a couple?”
“No, but nothing with us is final.”
“As of right now it is, but we need to focus on your trust for these men.”
“We don’t, if you say it’s a bad idea, then it’s a bad idea.”
Thank the universe that he came to his senses but something still seemed shady about those men. Who offers all that money and willing to drop it off with us; someone that’ll get more. Any house he owns, all of his girls, is worth killing him for. Plus I’m sure they would get a little something for taking him out, and God only knows how much more if they deliver me to their doorstep.
“King, baby. Did you tell them where we are?”
“Yeah, why?”
“We need to get out of here, now!”
Not this shit again, the last time I went running I was taken. I needed to come up with a plan but I needed time to do it. I asked King to get everything and not to leave anything behind. I cleared the search on the computer in our room, called down the front desk and told them to hold all calls, that we wouldn’t be available for a few hours, then hinted that we were newlyweds. The concierge congratulated me, stated she would make a note of it in the system, and forward all calls to the room’s voicemail. King stood there for a minute looking at me.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
I hope he didn’t think he was going to get any, especially now. I looked over the room while King was outside with the bags. I looked on the table and there was my engagement ring, it took everything in my not to leave it there. I put the ring in my pocket, took the corkscrew that occupied the bar into the bathroom, grabbed a hand towel, and sliced the inside of my hand. Walking through the room, I left a few hand prints every few steps so make it seem like I was being kidnapped, again.
When I come out of the room, I closed the door with my bloody hand, and King freaked out. I told him to be quiet and I would explain once we got into the car. Leaving blood drops behind, I escort King to the stairs, and explained that we need to keep out of sight. He nodded and followed behind me without a word. Now, that’s what I like. I guess it’s safe to say that I like being dominate, not because I want to take his role as a man but let’s be honest, he doesn’t think clearly. Maybe I’m paranoid but I don’t want to be caught up because I thought everything was cool, trusting him, and a group of pimps.
We make it to the car without problems, I didn’t see any cameras, until we hit the parking garage. I figure, I left enough blood behind to keep anyone busy for at least three or four hours which gives us enough time to get out of town. King pulled out onto the road asking where we were headed, I told him to find the nearest highway and head northwest. I wrapped my hand as tight as I could and laid my head back. I don’ t know how much blood I lost be I felt light headed and it didn’t help that I haven’t eaten.
“Sweetheart, you don’t look too good.”
