Part 18
While retrieving Matt's bullet from this man's head, I glanced up for a few seconds, and saw a bunch of wires. Following the wires that ended up leading into a closet. I opened the door and there were four monitors, with running live video and audio from outside the apartment to the inside. Our problem just got bigger. I picked up the keys that was laying on the coffee table, tried each one to make sure I had at least one that fit the door, and went to the SUV to tell Matt our new dilemma.
"We have to drop them off and come back. They have live video and audio feeds both inside and out of the apartment."
"What? Why would they have that?"
"I don't know but we need to find the server and take it home so we can destroy it."
"Did anyone see you coming out of their apartment?"
"No, unless someone was looking out of their peephole, but at this hour how likely is that?"
"Yeah well, how likely is it to have full surveillance equipment in their two bedroom apartment?"
Not knowing what we may have gotten ourselves into, we head home to drop these two off, and we knew that we had no choice but to come right back before daybreak. I’m sure that this is not going to be an easy task and may take us all day to gather everything we need. When we finally reached home, we took both men to the panic room, secured them properly, and put a code on the door before shutting them in. The panic room is equip to adjust the temperature. That way it never gets too hot or too cold; the temperature stays on 72 degrees Fahrenheit no matter what. While I was moving the furniture in the basement to take the focus off of the periodic table, Matt started to exfoliate all over again.
“What are you doing?”
“Getting the dead skin off of me.”
“Matt, I need you to relax, we just did that last night. Now we have to shower and change our clothes all over again. From our shirts to our boots and everything in between. We can’t afford to get caught now all because of you being nervous. We have a little under two hours to get ourselves together again, and back to their apartment. You need to get whatever’s in your system out, I’m not trying to get caught because you're a ball of nerves. If you can’t do this shit, tell me and I’ll go by myself.”
“I’m good, I was just up in my head because it's so quite.”
“What do you think I’ll do when I get to the apartment and start looking for the server? We’re not talking in case we don’t find it, we don't know if it's routing somewhere off site. We don't need to say anything, find everything we need to make sure we don't get caught up."
We both rushed upstairs to shower and change into another set of clothes. The only great part is, we have clothes in plastic set apart from our normal clothes; that's to make sure dead skin and/or hair doesn't fall on them. I'm in and out of the shower in fifteen minutes, got dressed, and sat in the SUV waiting on Matt. Twenty minutes passed by before I see him stepping out the house with a blood shot face. This fucking fool did what I told him not to do. I rolled down the window to tell him to stay home because I didn't want little drips of his blood in that apartment. Keeping his distance, he acknowledges, and goes back into the house. I put on the radio to calm myself and off to the apartment is went.
