Part 24
"Yeah, I never learned the area. Plus, you always drive; so how was I supposed to learn? So, which way do I go?"
"Great, ask the guy that can’t see. I’m coming up front.” Trying to balance myself, there was a loud explosion that scared Matt enough that he jerked the SUV. I fell ass first onto the dashboard and slid right down. The back of my head was resting on the bottom of the dashboard where the glovebox is, my legs and feet were straight up on the passenger seat, where my body was supposed to be. “Matt, tell me you didn’t blow up the house.”
“I did, I had no choice, there’s no way we would be able to come back with the dead bodies and blood everywhere. At least this way we can say we weren’t home and collect the insurance money, but this time I want the money. You have enough of it from your old man.”
"That's fine, but the next house we get you buy. We can't keep blowing up and setting fires to our houses. We'll talk about this later, I'm getting light-headed again."
I laid my head back as far as I and asked Matt that if we weren't being followed to pull over real quick so he can help me sit in the chair. After a few minutes of him laughing his head off he pulls over, opens my door, and pulls me out of the SUV; still laughing of course. He sits me in the seat, buckles me in and yells out "Mike and Ike" before he opened the door and went right back to laughing. I'm starting to really dislike this asshole. I asked him to tell me what street were we on and what's the next landmark so I can direct him in my blind state on where to go to get to the highway.
"We're on Baltimore Pike and the next big landmark we'll be coming up on, is the Hospital. We're heading towards Dodge City."
"Great, keep heading up that way and turn right on Island Avenue. You'll have the option to get on interstate 95 north or south. So, where are we heading?"
"Well, we need to get more medical supplies first then off to a motel. Preferably out of this State so we don't get caught up in all of those murders."
"All for what murders, there's three bodies in there."
"There's more than three bro. I went in the back door since it was closer to the basement. I put the case of dynamite in the panic room and left the door open, I put a few sticks under and around fat boy, and another twenty at the front door. I poured gasoline everywhere and put the left overs at the front door with the sticks. By the time I looked up again, Tony's backups were getting out of their cars. I ran to the back door, grabbed all of the things I packed, and threw in a pack of lit matches in the kitchen. I jumped the fence, ran across the neighbor's lawn, and down their driveway to the car."
"So that explains the big boom."
"Yeah man, you should've seen it."
"Yeah, whatever. Back to my question; where are we heading?"
"Back to where this all started; Shubuta, Mississippi."
