Part 23

Part 23

I nodded my head yes. I mean what the hell was I going to do anyway, he was right. I can’t feel the bottom of my leg. I don’t know if that’s because I’ve been sitting on this hard ass chair or because I stabbed myself in the worst place ever. Matt takes the tape off which didn’t hurt as bad as I thought it would, he untied my arms and legs; and guided me to the corner and walked away. I heard him open the panic room, when he came back he grabbed my hand placing a gun in my palm, and put extra clips in my pocket.

“You have a full clip inside and three full clips in your pocket. If you hear someone coming down the stairs and don’t say Mike and Ike, start shooting. Duck, reload, and start shooting again. You got it?”

I nodded my head yes. I didn’t know if I tried to speak if any words if they would come out or how loud; plus, I was getting choked up because I thought I was going to have to kill this mother fucker for leaving me. Matt walked away climbing the stairs two at a time; I could hear him breathe hard with every step up he took, with a slight grunting sound. The screeching door was pushed ajar, I heard a yell and stomping like Tony was running towards Matt.

Matt yelled out, “TIMBER!”

Then there was a few more loud grunts and something came barreling down the stairs, it didn’t say Mike and Ike. I started shooting out of joy, I’m sure by the time his fat ass reached the bottom of the basement stairs he would either be badly hurt, to a point that he couldn’t walk or he would've died halfway through. I just wanted to help speed the process along.

After I emptied the first clip and was ready to reload when I heard Matt, “fucking Mike and Ike man, damn! I’m going to take you to the SUV, grab some important things including the kids’ pictures, and we need to get out of here before the rest of the people come.”

“You don’t want to stay and fight? This is our home!”

“Yeah Ryan, let’s have a full fledge shootout so the Police will come and see all the dead bodies. I need you to think, I know it’s hard for you to do that at this time; matter fact, don’t say anything because we need to go.”

He grabs me by the arm and flings me over his shoulder. Ass to the air, I just get carried around like a cave woman. Up the stairs and out the back door. He goes to the front of the house and puts me in the backseat. There was silence for all but ten seconds then the car door open, I pointed my gun at whomever was in the driver’s seat.

“What’s the password?”

“Mike and Ike, Ryan are you serious right now?”

“Sorry bro, you know I can’t see. Next time just say it before entering anywhere.”

Matt huffs, starts the SUV, and backs it out of the driveway. He drove for about two minutes, pulled over, and told me that he’s going to leave it running; so I need to lay down until he gets back. Doing as I was told, I laid down for what I thought was a brief minute. I heard screaming in the distance, “Mike and Ike, Mike and Ike, Mike and Ike.” I raised my head slightly right before the door swung open, “Mike and Ike, we gotta go.” I laid back down because I wasn’t going to be any help, then I heard bullets hitting the rear and side of the SUV.

"Good thing you got this bullet proof brother, but we still have a problem.”

“What’s the problem?” I asked from my laying down position.

“I don’t know where we’re going. How do I get to the highway?”

"You're fucking kidding me right?"
