Part 19
I put on the oversized hoodie that has been sitting in the back seat since we dropped off TJ and the kids, a little over a year ago. I just couldn't come to terms with removing it until now. I can still smell TJ's scent when it grazed across my face while putting it on. Lowering the hood as far as I could, without making me look out of place. I put on my black latex gloves to make sure my palm prints didn't get on anything, since the tips of my fingers was still covered with crazy glue. Marching up the concrete stairs, two steps at a time to the apartment that belongs to two of our three hostages. As soon as I stuck the key in the door, I could hear the door behind me opening. Rushing into the apartment, carefully closing the door behind me, and not looking back until the door was closed. Peering through the peephole I was able to see the back side of a person that was picking up something that looked like trash bags. It's safe to say they didn't think anything of me since they still have their back to the door.
The first thing I do is follow the wire in the other direction since I know exactly where the wires lead when going the other way. Once I got behind the TV it branched off in eight different directions. One leads to the camera attached to a game system. I flipped through the applications to find the video feed and over twenty-nine hours of footage was saved but there's no internet cords hooked to the system; so we were safe there. While disconnecting the system and wires, I saw that there's a drilled hole at the base of the wall right under the socket. The camera outside is small enough that we didn't notice it, therefore wouldn't have storage to save anything; but the way technology is today, one can never be so sure. I cut the cord, went into the bathroom and grabbed their tube of toothpaste to fill the hole.
I put the game system, chords, and controller in a trash bag but left the other three controllers along with the games. Walking outside slowly, looking around to make sure no one was standing out there, I looked around to locate the camera. Once located, I disconnected it, took it in the house, and placed that in the bag with the game system. Now since I know what the cameras look like I begun looking around the apartment finding each one and filling any holes up with toothpaste. The reason for the toothpaste is to make the hole harder to find. Which will make anyone that doesn’t know them personally, believe they had nothing to do with the cameras that may have been installed at one point in time.
Out of eight possible cameras I was able to locate seven. There's one more that's hidden and that I can't find. Starting from the beginning, I picked up all the cords and noticed the last one went into the bathroom. I looked everywhere but still no signs of it. After looking for this one camera for three hours I needed to piss. Lifted up the toilet seat, pulled out my johnson, and started to relieve myself. Noticing something shiny, I took a closer look, "Found you mother fucker." I said to out loud.
After disconnecting that camera I poured bleach in the toilet and started scrubbing every inch of the bowl, inner and outer with one of the toothbrushes in the holder. Once completed I went back to the closet where I first found the monitors and speakers. Taking apart and disconnecting everything one at a time, I finally reached the server and the external hard. I packed those up along with everything else but there's no where for me to go. I can't leave, the sun is already up, and if anyone sees me leaving I could be blamed abduction of Tony and Greg and the murder of whomever this guy is that's laying on the floor with a huge hole in his head. Since all I have is time, I'll see what they have in the fridge, watch a few movies, and take a nap. I can do another run through before heading out of here.
